To find the parents, simply reference the parent key in column 2 with the identical new family key in column 5 of the previous generation.

To find the offspring, simply reference the new family key in column 5 with the identical new family key in column 2 of the next generation.

Generation - Gives the current Generation number, and the birth date range to fall into that generation.

Parent Key - Allows you to find the parents of the sons and daughters listed in the 3rd column. It consists of a code such as 3A, or generation 3, marriage index A.

Son/Daughter - Column 3 contains all the offspring from the Parent Key in column 2.

Husband/Wife - Lists the Marriages of the offspring from Column 3

New Marriage Key - The new marriage produces a new index of the same format. Simply find the same index in the next generation to find the offspring of the new marriage.

Written out: John Matuszak married Magdalena Stanislawski, and we name this marriage 0A. Their children are Susan, Mary, Agnes and Maciff. Susan married Florian Theodore Shafts, and their marriage code is 1A. To find their offspring, you would have to go to generation 2, and find the 1A parent index.
